February Haitianista!

With a voice just as beautiful as herself, her parents made no mistake naming her Melody.
 Where: Boston, Massachusetts
Occupation: Singer/Songwriter

"Melody is an up & coming contemporary Gospel artist & songwriter from Boston Massachusetts, with a dream to share God’s love through music with the world. Melody was born with an amazing gift to sing. she has been singing since the age of 2 and won't stop until the world hears her voice."

"I have a laid back funky style that I think reflects my fun personality. I love dressing up and statement shoes are a must for me!"
"Melody’s passion wasn’t always to sing gospel music. R&B was her first love but it was through her life experiences where she had a close encounter with God and decided that she would use the gift that he gave her for his glory. Melody’s passion now is to simply sing and write songs with a message that can change lives. "
"On March 2, 2012, Melody released her first debut single “God is in Control” on itunes and many other online music retailers and subsequently won Best New Artist at the Boston Angelic Awards that same year. "
We are SO EXCITED about her New Single 'Song 4 U' that drops here today! We got a chance to hear it a couple months ago while styling her for her this cover shoot and absolutely fell in love with it (Can't tell you how many times we made her play it over for us lol)! We have got to say that it is Melody in a whole new element, so please don't miss out on the download available now until Friday 3/1/13. For more on Melody check out her website here.

Weekend

This past weekend was really laid back for us. Church was a must, we also spent some time with friends and family, watched the all star game, and went to the mall to scout some President's day sales. While out we stopped by Target to check out the Prabal Gurung line for Target, which we must say is phenomenal! The prints and colors of all the pieces are vibrant and perfect for spring (pics below). Here's what we wore out...

Camo Pants: Zara(sold out).Contrast Jacket via Marshalls.Tank: Express.Cap Toe Boots: Zara(sold out)

Sweater: Asos. Leather Tank: F21. Leather Panel Leggings: H&M. Lace Up Booties: Guess via Macy's. Studded Clutch via Marshalls

A couple of our favorites from Prabal Gurung x Target('First date print' sweatshirt and dress). Items flew off the shelves and sold out quickly. This line was definitely a hit! Check out the rest of the line here.

XOXO,
Your Haitianistas

Dress 4 Less: Rebecca Minkoff style

So this past weekend we got hit BIG TIME by Nemo so that canceled out any plans we had of going out (one of us is an essential employee and got stuck working a 30hr shift!). Our Governor issued a driving ban and no one was allowed on the roads past 4pm on Friday, which was a great move (even church was cancelled!). Come Saturday morning it was evident that Nemo had it out for us lol! So enough about snow and on to the goodies that we found when Nemo finally gave us permission to get out. While out we spotted some amazing Rebecca Minkoff bags. She has some of the most amazing bags and of course TJ Maxx had some at lower than retail price. Check them out...

Rebecca Minkoff Woven Mac clutch $295

Spotted at TJ Maxx for $66 dollars less at $229
This bag is sold out everywhere so check out a TJ MAxx store near you
(Wait a little longer and we're quite sure this will be marked down some more)

Rebecca Minkoff Wheelie $495

Spotted at TJ Maxx for nearly $200 less at $299.99!
This bag is also sold out so check out your local TJ Maxx for it

Great Travel bag to keep you looking super chic!

January Haitianista!

With bold prints as fierce as herself, we could not resist dubbing Ms. Mariama Bramble as our first Haitianista! Check her out..

Where: from Boston living in DC
Occupation: Marketing Professional and Owner/Founder of Brownbelle, an internationally distributed accessory brand

"My style has definitely been inspired a lot by men’s style. I love a tailored look, but I also like pretty fabrics with movement and prints, prints and more prints. So I often say my style is afro-prep. I try to work in bold pieces as often as possible, but unfortunately I do have to be practical for work. In recent years I think that I have toned down a lot and now I go for a more feminine (which doesn't always mean sexy) classic look. Overall I think my style is constantly changing, I look for things that fit my body well, mesh well with my existing wardrobe and makes me feel good."
"Brownbelle accessories are a reflection of my wild, fiercely independent spirit with a large dose of classic sophisticated style. Every piece reflects my love of vibrant fabrics, bold patterns and textures while paying homage to traditional timeless style."
Check out her handcrafted "brownbelle" bowties, made from thrifted retro neckties, which can be purchased here
