Family Ties

Hey y'all! This weekend was jammed packed with celebrations(just the way I like it :)). We celebrated my BF's 30th as well as Father's Day with our dad. As we've recently witnessed with current events worldwide, life can be cut so short, however; it's the time spent with loved ones while they are alive and well that truly matters most. Saturday night we went out with a group of friends and family to Yamato Steakhouse to celebrate the birthday boy. Since he's so obsessed with Asian food it was only right to treat him to his favorite. We chose to dine at the Hibachi table for a bit of added entertainment. The food was absolutely divine and the ambiance was great, so we decided to take our dad there on Sunday for Father's Day. Haitian's idea of eating out is eating/ordering from a Haitian restaurant so we had to get him out of his shell for this one; the faces he makes when he sees something that doesn't look appeasing is PRICELESS! Nonetheless, it was a perfect weekend filled with love and laughter! Hope you all enjoyed your weekend celebrating the wonderful Father's in your lives!

Bright Colors!!!

HEEEY Guys, I don't know about you, but I'm certainly happy that summer has begun especially with all the fun things we have planned, so be sure to stay tuned!!! When asked if Farrah is a sneaker rockin' gal or a heel lovin' gal....Those who know me know that I am without a doubt the "sneaker lovin' gal"! Don't get me wrong, I LOVE my heels, however, not after working a 16 hour shift (yes, those brutal nursing hours!!!). Let's just say that I prefer to feel as if I am walking on clouds rather than EGGSHELLS...LOL. Nothing beats looking fabulous without having to sacrificing comfort, even though it's a must sometimes to pull off a certain look. It always excites me when I can wear a favorite pair of my sneakers, because overall it means I won't be sacrificing a thing because I'M COMFORTABLE!!! That is exactly why this post is one of my favs because it just about sums up my style. Enjoy!!!

Sporty Chick

Hey there it's Cassan (Ka-sun) or as my college girlfriends say (Kuh-sawn). So it's Memorial Day weekend aka "let the summer shenanigans begin" YAAAY! Trust me when I say I will be taking it ALLL in after the winter we just survived (because it really was survival of the fittest, was it not?)

I almost decided to go away, but then I opted to stay in town this weekend because 1. I've been working like a hog and needed a staycation to just relax/catch up on rest 2. I have a major trip planned for my 30th bday in September and want to splurge and be gone-with-the-wind-faulous! 3. If I went away I would've had to leave Nemiah which I really didn't want to do; she's attached to my hip and most times I rather just have myself an overload of movies nights with my miniature BFF and bae of course :) (but don't worry I have my fair share of days off when I deem it necessary, so don't judge me, lol).

At any rate, I am SO DARN EXCITED to get on with summer. The outfits, the bbq's, the beach trips, long walks in the park, whatever it is I am just down. What are you most excited to do this summer? Leave your comments below!

Red & Blue

Today is May 18th aka Haitian Flag Day! As you can already imagine, we are proud of our Heritage (hence the name Haitianistas) :).  Here's a quick history lesson: After the successful slave uprising in the late 1700s led by Toussaint Louverture, Haitian leaders such as Dessaline and Chritophe wanted a flag to represent their troops as they marched. On May 18, 1803 the first design of the Haitian Flag was created. Soon thereafter, Haiti was the first black republic to gain it's independence in 1804.

In today's post. we chose to wear red and blue to represent the Haitian Flag. We're proud to be amongst the Haitian community and continue to pray for our country. Many areas riddled by the devastating earthquake of 2012 are still in the process of being rebuilt. Hope you enjoyed this little bit on our cultures history!
